2009 Great Black Hills Quilt Escape Friendship Block "Underground Railroad" 12" X 12" block finished...

Fabric requirements: # 1 Neutral # 2 Dark blue ( the half sq. triangles) # 3 Your choice (will end up scrappy in quilt)

Cut # 1 into 2 1/2" strip Cut #3 into 2 1/2 " strip Sew them together right sides together. Open and press to the dark. Cut sewn strip into 2 1/2" segments...and make (5) five four patch blocks. Cut # 1 and # 2 fabric into 4 7/8 X 4 7/8 squares. Place them right sides together and draw a line from corner to corner and sew 1/4" seam allowance on either side of line.. Cut on line. You will have (2) two half sq. triangles ..do this twice so you will have a total of (4) four half sq. triangles ( 4 1/2" ) finished....... SEW BLOCKS TOGETHER LIKE A 9 PATCH do not trim Let the winner of blocks do that.......
